In my work I try to achieve an integration of graceful calm and swirling vital energy. I’m constantly processing visual and emotional information that I formulate into conceptual themes of deconstructed landscapes and abstract figurative works. I’m seduced by color, it’s the grounding element in my paintings whether it’s the essence of a landscape or when color becomes mass and movement at once. The lines I make with the brush are gestural, expressive, and lyrical, a written abstract language that helps define the surface of my canvas.  I find paint to be the most powerful medium in which to communicate my ideas.
